Bring on the Warm Weather

Yesterday was a gorgeous day - it was mostly sunny and the high was 75 degrees.  That's right - 75 - 5 more degrees and we would have hit 80!  I took advantage of it by going to Central Park (you probably could've guessed that one).  I wasn't the only one here in NYC who was ready to spend some time outside - this is what the park looked like:

Otis and Sam enjoyed the warm weather as well.  I opened my windows and they sat in the sun.

And this is how I left them when I went to church tonight :)

He Is Risen...He is Risen INDEED!

I didn't make it home for Easter since I am going to be home in exactly a month (Yeah!!!), but I did have a good day in NYC with some new friends from church.  It was a sunny day (cold and windy too) so I walked to Central Park in the morning and sat in the grass for a while.  I had a sweatshirt on, along with my winter coat, and I was warm as long as the wind was not blowing.  I took my Bible and read through the end of Matthew and relaxed a little.

Sunday afternoon I met up for brunch with some people from church.  We went to someone's apartment and had waffles, dyed eggs, and had microwave Peep wars (something I had never done before).  There were about 12 people there, so it was a little cramped trying to fit that many people into an apartment!  It was fun, and I am thankful for this group of people - they seem to do a lot together so I am excited to do more with them.  We all then walked to church for the 5pm service.  After church, I got on skype so I could be a part of my family's Easter Sunday in AZ.

Below are some pictures that I took while I was walking through the park - all the trees are gorgeous right now and soon there will be tulips everywhere!

The Little Mermaid

Today I did not work, so decided to take advantage of living in NYC by going to a Broadway show.  Debie (see Macy's Flower Show post below) was available tonight so we saw The Little Mermaid.

It was cute, but one that is not at the top of my list to see again.  There are quite a few new shows that have just come out for this season, so I am excited to start seeing more shows!
**And yes, I am still wearing a wool coat in the middle of April.  I am waiting patiently for the sun and warmer weather.

Macy's Flower Show

One of the Macy's Herald Square events during the year is the annual flower show.  I did not work today (yeah!!!) so I called some friends to see if they wanted to go and walk around this afternoon.

My friend Debie from KPMG in Phoenix.  She moved to the City the first of January.
Afterwards we walked to a deli and got lunch and took it to Bryant Park and ate there.  It was gorgeous here today - 60 degrees and sunny.  I wore my flip flops AND I took that green hoodie off while sitting at the park because I was too hot!  Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, but I am looking forward to more consistent days of 60 degree weather.

Brady Anthony

He's here!  Brady Anthony was born on March 30, 2009 at 3:42pm.  He weighed 7lbs, 8oz, and was 21" long.  We had Julie's baby shower back in December, and since I have yet to post anything from December (I am thinking Christmas in July) I decided to combine her shower and Brady's first pictures in this post.

Me, Julie and Carey - we had Julie's shower in mid-December during one of my numerous trips between Phoenix and New York City that month.

All ready for the baby - at this point she knew she was having a boy, but had not yet decided on his name.

Brady just a few hours old.  Scott emailed me these pictures as I have yet to meet him in person.

Brady and his mom - they share the same Birthday.  Happy Birthday Julie and Happy BIRTH Day to Brady.

Scott and his new little boy.

I can't wait to go home in May and meet him.  Brady, don't grow too fast in this next month and a half :)  Congrats to Scott and Julie!!!
