2009 By City

Same as this year, this year and this year. Each of the below cities included a one night-stay in 2009. Cities denoted by an asterisk include multiple visits.
  • Atlanta, GA*
  • Scottsdale, AZ*
  • Orlando, FL*
  • Charlotte, NC
Another aspect to this "tracker" which I thought would be fun for this year is to include a listing of people who have visited me (and stayed for at least one night in my apartment) in NYC. This list starts with November 2008 when I moved here.
  • Dad - November 2008
  • Aubrey and Montana - December 2008
  • Diahann and Charles - December 2008
  • Mom, Dad, Kyle, Kellyn - December/January
  • Lauren and Jason - January
  • Dad - April/May
  • Lauren and Jason - May
  • Brooke - June
  • Mom and Dad - July
  • Lauren - September
  • Sun and Brian - September
  • Mom and Kellyn - September
  • Rob and Kathryn - October
  • Lauren - November
  • Mom and Dad - November

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Again, a break in my chronological posting for a "real-time" post. Well, somewhat real-time - today is Tuesday and these pictures were taken on Sunday. On Saturday afternoon it started snowing in NYC (and all along the east coast) and it snowed all night long. I was out Saturday during the day, and it was lightly snowing in the early afternoon, but by the time I went out to get dinner on Saturday night it was blizzard like conditions. There were barely any people out walking around, which is very unlike NYC.

This is what it looked like outside of my window on Sunday morning when I woke up.
I decided to leave my apartment early (9am) and go for a walk in Central Park. When I left my apartment the streets had not yet fully been plowed so the buses weren't running, and there were very few taxis out driving around. It was kind of an eerie feeling with the streets so empty, but it was kind of neat too. This is 81st Street.

Central Park - again, not too many people were out yet.
The kids were all having fun sledding, and I saw a few people cross-country skiing through the Park.

All these dogs were at The Boathouse - they got left out in the snow while their owner's were eating breakfast :(
This is usually a lake - not this day. There was a sign up that said "thin ice."

All the ducks were putting their head under water and swimming around - I would have been freezing if I was in that water!

I ended up walking to midtown to see the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center. I thought there would be more snow on it but maybe the lights melt it off?

It was pretty on Sunday, but by Monday afternoon the snow was all dirty and gross.

You Just Filed a 10-K, What Are You Going to do Now? I Am Going to Disneyworld!

And that is pretty much how the story went. The Millsaps had planned a trip to Disneyworld a few months back, and I told them that maybe I would meet them in Orlando for the weekend. Well, as our filing date kept getting pushed back I didn't know if I was going to make it. Alexi kept texting me saying "I better see you in Disney!" However, if the K wasn't filed, I wasn't going. BUT, we did get the K filed on Tuesday, October 6th, and I was on a plane to Orlando on Friday!

Friday I arrived in Orlando late in the morning. Millsaps were already out doing stuff, so I just went to the hotel, laid out by the pool and took a nap. Friday night we went to Downtown Disney for dinner.

On our way to Downtown Disney
Alexi, Charles and Mikalie at the restaurant where we had dinner
The lego store
Lexi and I had fun trying on various hats and taking pictures...

Saturday morning we got up early so we could get to Disneyworld when it opened.
The group - Charles' parents were there as well.

Mack is getting to be to cool for pictures :)

Diahann and I waiting to go into the Tiki Room
The kids on the Jungle Cruise
Splash Mountain
"Hang onto your hats and glasses folks cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

We couldn't pass up another hat picture.

Mack was my driver on the Speedway.

Mikalie would not ride Splash Mountain all day, but we got her to go on it at night. And then she rode it 3 times! Yeah Mikalie!
My best find of the night - the hidden Mickey on Splash Mountain (notice the red and white fishing bobs just to the left of the picnic basket). I was looking for this ALL day.
The end of the night. By this time it was going on 1am and we had been at Disney since 10am - but it was a FUN day!
