The Rest of the Trip...

The main purpose of my November AZ trip was obviously Kellyn's wedding. But, I was there for two weeks so I had plenty of time to do other things as well. Those were things like...

sitting in the sun with Otis (I had Otis and Sam in AZ since I was going to be there for so long),
lunch with Lauren,
seeing Zoe sleeping in odd places,
family dinners,
hanging out with Brady (and Scott and Julie too),
taking Christmas card pictures (this was one of the pictures my parents used in their Christmas card since we are all now Sun Devil alumni),
dinner with friends
from the MAT days (thanks Aubrey for having us over and cooking),
seeing friends I have known since 3rd grade,
having an early Thanksgiving dinner,
and dessert,
playing games with my cousins,
watching some football,
doing puzzles,
and dancing with Colby and Jen to Hannah Montana.
I also had lots of lunches with Grandma at La Grande Orange, hiked Camelback with Rob and Kathryn, met Blake and had lunch with Jenn and Jaime, saw a movie and had a great night with Julie and spent lots of time with Mom, Dad, Kyle and Kellyn. I also celebrated my 30th birthday, which will be the next post. Such a good trip!

SOLD!!!

Today was a bittersweet day - I sold my Jetta. I knew for some time that I wanted a Jetta, and I saved $$ during college so I could buy a car when I graduated. In June of 2002, Dad and I started looking at cars and we were back and forth between Chapman Volkswagen and Camelback Volkswagen. I ended up buying my first car, a Volkswagen Jetta, on June 26, 2002. I drove it out of the Camelback VW parking lot with only 32 miles on it. Today, my dad watched it drive away with about 68,000 miles on it.

I have been talking of selling it for a year now since I am in NYC and really do not need a car, and it was listed once on Craiglist about a year ago with no responses. Since I recently re-signed my lease for another year, I decided that I really needed to sell it. I listed it again on Craigslist about a month ago, and got only one response. The guy sounded kind of like a jerk, and his email address was @inamexico.com so I didn't respond. I decided to list it again this last Saturday night, and within a couple of hours I had a response from someone who was asking some questions. His email address was @cox.net so he seemed legit. I responded to all of his questions, and he emailed me the next morning with a few more questions and also told me that it was actually his 17-year old daughter who was looking for a car. He said that they had been looking at Jettas for a while as that is the car she has always wanted. He also said that she had been working for the last 4 years to save up her money, and had finally reached the magic number to be able to buy a car. He said that they would like to meet my dad that afternoon to take it for a test drive. They came and took it for a test drive and they decided they wanted to buy it. They put down a deposit last night, and my dad met them at the bank this afternoon to sign over the title and get the cash. So, as of tonight, I no longer own a Jetta (or any car for that matter).

These were the pictures I included on my Craigslist add:

The below picture is of Lauren. Her dad sent this to me saying that my car was the nicest one that they had looked at and that I had done a really good job of taking care of the vehicle. He said that they would do the same and that Lauren didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night because she was so excited. The car made it safely to its new home, and her dad emailed me tonight saying that he was going to teach her how to polish the car over the weekend and that he would send me some more pictures. I am glad I sold it to her - I know that she will take care of it since she has saved up for it, and I hope that she has as much fun with it as I did. (She is also much more stylish then I ever was as a junior in high school :)
Thanks Dad for your help in selling it and all the logistics that went along with it.

I Gotta Feeling...

For the second time, Mr. and Mrs. Coby Hiatt. Rob Wagner was the MC, and they were announced to the Black Eyed Peas, I Gotta Feeling.
Doing my third (and probably final) Maid of Honor toast.
Kellyn and Coby do not like cake, so instead of wedding cake, they had pizzookies from Oregano's.

The bouquet toss was done with Beyonce's All the Single Ladies playing in the background. I was more excited about the song than catching the bouquet. I kept suggesting this song to Kellyn (as well as the garter song) and she kept saying that she was not going to do it. I was happy to hear it come on!

Kyle caught the garter. The guys song was Justin Timberlake and Sexy Back.
Doing a little Cha Cha Slide...
and the train.
Oops...forgot to take a picture of the shoes. Good thing we got this before Kellyn and Coby left.

...that tonight's gonna be a good, good night.

Kellyn Becomes a Hiatt

I love this picture. Kira was shocked by all of the people in the room - I don't think she realized when we were practicing that all the seats were actually going to have people in them. She stopped right there and froze. Colby just stood right next to her - he didn't really know what to do. Eventually they made it down the aisle.

Watching the slide show.
Instead of the unity candle they did unity sand.
You may kiss your bride.
Signing the marriage certificate.

The reception is next...
