Last weekend, August 22-24th, I went over to San Diego with some friends. There were 8 of us total, and one car left Phoenix Friday morning early, and the other car left at about 2pm. I was in the 2pm group.
We made it to San Diego by about 8pm, and since we had been driving all afternoon we just decided to go to the Gaslamp District and get dinner there. This was my chicken salad that I ordered - I had never seen purple hard boiled eggs before. After dinner we went back to the hotel and called it a night.
Saturday morning I got up and went for an early run. We were staying in downtown San Diego, so I ran down around the harbor. This was my running view in about 70 degree weather = perfection.
I came back to the hotel and did an ab workout, and after I finished that everyone was still sleeping. So, I decided to walk around and find a coffee shop and have breakfast and do a little reading.
We decided to go to Coronado Island for the day and left the hotel around 10:30ish. The weather couldn't have been better.
The girls - Lena, Ginger, Me, Jackie and Devina
Devina, Ginger and I decided to rent bikes and ride around the island in the afternoon. Other than a flat tire debacle halfway around the island, it was a nice ride.
Walking through the Hotel Del Coronado after the beach.
Dinner Saturday night was at Filippi's in Little Italy in San Diego.

We wrote on our wine bottle and they hung it from the ceiling for us.
After dinner we walked to the Gaslamp for some Ghirardelli ice cream. This was definitely my "fat" meal for the week.
Sunday morning we went to Balboa Park and walked around there for a couple of hours before driving back to Phoenix.
I need to get to San Diego more often. It is such a short drive from Phoenix and a nice weekend vacation. Who wants to go?
