Our last full day in Vancouver started out with Honey Salt for breakfast. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great vibe.
I had the Gluten Free Sweet Potato Pancakes and they came with an almond butter and oat crumble - they were excellent!
The restaurant was in the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, and before we left Dave stopped at the restroom and I was standing in the lobby. This group of guys all walked past me in suits and beanies and I thought that is an odd business conference with all guys. Then I noticed they were all walking out to get on a bus and realized it was probably the Nashville Predators hockey team - which Dave confirmed because he said the driver was in the restroom and he heard him say that he was driving the Preds. They were in town to play the Canucks...and we were going to the game later!
After breakfast we went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver. It was our only rainy day in Vancouver so a good day to be in the rainforest.
I think Totem Poles are a thing in the Pacific Northwest - we saw a lot of these on our Alaskan cruise in 2005.
The bridge is 140 meters long and 70 meters above the Capilano River. It was originally built in 1889 and completely rebuilt in 1956.
We wore trash bags to keep us dry.
It was so pretty and so green...because of all the rain.
I am only 10 years old in tree years (based on my height).
After being outside in the rain, we were cold and wanted to go somewhere warm and inside so we decided on the Vancouver Aquarium.
The aquarium was in Stanley Park and the fall colors were beautiful.
Dinner on Tuesday night was at the Royal Dinette.
I had a butternut squash dish and Dave had a french dip.
And we ended the night at Rogers Centre for the Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators. This is the Canucks mascot, Fin.
The next morning we had an early flight back to Phoenix. It was such a fun and memorable trip - Vancouver was a fun place and somewhere I would visit again. Thanks to Dave for his thoughtfulness in planning all the details of this trip!
